How to Clean the Inside of Your Windshield

Over time, the inside of your car windshield will see its share of dirt, grime and residue build-up. If you don’t clean it regularly, these can result in impacted clarity and visibility behind the wheel. To stay safe and maintain optimal visibility, it’s important to clean the inside of your windshield somewhat often. The process is easy and shouldn’t take longer than a few minutes. Just follow these three simple steps for a cleaner, clearer view!

Step 1: Dusting

Use a lint-free microfiber cloth, like the TechCare Super White Microfiber Cleaning Cloth, to give the inside of your windshield a quick dusting off. This soft and absorbent cloth will help dislodge larger particles that can scratch the glass. They are sold in a pack of four 16" x 16" cloths and are machine washable and dryer safe — so you can reuse them for years. Before you’re ready to move onto step two, make sure to take a quick look at the glass cleaner you’re using. If the cleaner is ammonia-based, you may want to cover up any vinyl or leather surfaces near the windshield as ammonia can cause damage to those materials.

Step 2: Spraying

After dusting off the inside of your windshield, you can start applying the cleaner of your choice liberally. We recommend using an interior windshield cleaner, such as TechCare® Anti Fog Interior Glass Spray. This cleaner cuts through tough dirt and grime, helps eliminates smudges and cigarette smoke film and prevents fogging in even the most extreme temperatures. Plus, it has a mild scent to help neutralize odors. After spraying, give the cleaner a few moments to cut through any built-up grime before wiping away.

Step 3: Wiping

Make sure to use a different lint-free microfiber cloth than the one you used to dust off your windshield for the best, streak-free results. If one side of the rag starts to get dirty, switch to a clean side. If the entire rag is dirty, make sure to swap to a new one. Go over the windshield a few times to make sure it’s completely dry; this will help ensure there won’t be any streaks that show up after you’ve finished.

Now that the inside of your windshield is clean, why not take a few more minutes to clean the rest of your vehicle’s interior? Simply just follow the above steps for each area you want to clean for a streak-free shine every time!
