Ford F-150 Fender Flares
What are fender flares?
WeatherTech’s Fender Flares are made 100% in America and custom-fit to your exact vehicle, adding an OEM-plus look while shielding your paint from mud, stones, salt and road debris. For owners who've put money and time into their truck, a paint chip or a patch of rust is a major eyesore and can become a bigger problem. Our flares also work for older model trucks to cover existing rust or paint damage.
What aesthetic do WeatherTech’s Fender Flares have?
The design is OEM-plus: close to the factory panel, with just enough protrusion to protect the wheel well. Our customers love that these flares give the look of the next level of trim package, without spending the big bucks you would at a dealership. Rather than thick, aggressive-looking flare styles, this set stays close to the original panel line for a subtle upgrade instead of a widebody fender flare look. They're available in matte black with a soft-touch, lightly textured finish that’s perfect for stock trucks or fully built rigs.
Which trucks do these Fender Flares fit?
This is a vehicle-specific four-piece set, molded to the body lines of the rather than a universal fender flare stretched to fit multiple vehicles. Our flares work with smaller factory tires or larger aftermarket ones, so you can still size up your wheels later without buying a new set.
What are WeatherTech’s Fender Flares made of?
The flares are made from TPO, an automotive-grade material chosen for enhanced UV stability and impact resistance. They’re injection molded for a more precise fit than other options on the market. WeatherTech’s panels run about a third thicker than competing products, and they’re paintable for a color-matched finish. We recommend seeing a professional for your paint job.
How are WeatherTech’s Fender Flares installed without drilling?
Installation uses hardware that is already on the truck and custom attachments that require no drilling or adhesive. A bracket mounts to the truck, and the flare mounts on top of the bracket, so the gasket is the only thing touching the vehicle, leaving the bodywork untouched and uncompromised. Installation takes about 30-60 minutes per wheel with no need for tire removal. Periodic inspection and tightening are recommended, as with any clip-mounted accessory.
How do Fender Flares prevent rust?
This set is built to resist corrosion at the material and hardware level. WeatherTech’s Fender Flares hardware passed a 1,000-hour salt spray test with no rusting or decomposition, and the mounting screws carry the same rating. The hardware is coated from the start, so it won't corrode against the vehicle's panels the way uncoated competitor hardware can. Plus, our custom-molded gasket helps stop water seepage between the flare and your truck’s paint.
Will WeatherTech’s Fender Flares work with mudflaps?
No. Mudflaps mount into the sheet metal behind the wheel well and adding a Fender Flare interferes with the flat surface a mudflap needs to mount. Truck owners will need to choose either Fender Flares OR mudflaps depending on needs and protection/aesthetic goals. Please note that Fender Flares offer more ground clearance than mudflaps.
