The WeatherTech Solid Billet Aluminum License Plate Frame. We make no excuses for the price, but there are also no excuses for the superb American crafted quality either. This is a solid billet license plate frame for car collectors or for true car enthusiast only. Today, they are made one at a time right in the WeatherTech tooling factory in Bolingbrook, IL. Furthermore they are made on an American made CNC milling machine and the machining time approaches two hours which includes real 3D machining. Even the cutters used to shape the metal are American made. None of this is inexpensive and therefore the price is what it is as our American machinists receive fair American wages, they are created on American made CNC machinery using American raw materials with American made cutters, and we use American sourced finishing of the billet aluminum.

How can the Click and Stay caps be removed without breaking them?

The Click-and-Stay caps can be removed by inserting a small tool into the holes found at the base of the cap and using leverage to pry the cap into a released position.

Will this cover up my back-up camera?

We test fit our license plate frames to a wide variety of vehicles in order to prevent interference with rear view cameras; however, it is not possible to fit every configuration. We recommend locating your back-up camera lens and determining if the license plate frame would cause interference when installed on your vehicle.

If my license plate only screws in on the top, will it stay on?

Yes. When installed properly, the two top screws will keep the license plate/frame secured to the vehicle.

I am older and on my 30th something vehicle. I have had license plate frames all throughout the years and they all corrode, rust or look like shhh after awhile. This is my second billet frame I have purchased from WEATHERTECH as I wanted to see how the first one held up after one year and a duration of a hard winter with lots of snow melting chemicals on the roads. It held up like a true champion on my F350 Tremor so I just had to get one for my mustang! I will put the cheap plate frames where they belong in the recycling bin!

Don't put a $1.98 item on a $60,000+ car

The last few cars I've purchased I've looked at the WeatherTech Billet License Plate Frame and bought something else for a fraction of the price. With my recent new car I decided I'd been conservative enough. I bought the $149 plus tax and shipping billet frame and I'm glad I did. It looks great and it's a simple elegant work of art. No casual observer would really appreciate it but I do.

Better than I thought

I bought a plate bracket before so as to protect my plate in the car wash and to look nice. But by the time from when I originally put it on and traded my car in; I could not find the other screws that came with it. So I decided to buy another one. I actually thought I was buying the same one. But instead got a much improved version. More sturdy and just as nice. I really like the quality of the product. Milled aluminum. It's one solid piece of metal that has weight.
